David Summerson was born in Rochester, NY in 1962. He lived throughout Western New York and studied history at the University while living in Buffalo, an area renowned for Cindy Sherman and its early contemporary art scene and Albright Knox Galleries.
Summerson’s rare oil and acrylic paintings are recognized for their reflection, consideration, and emotional evocations. His stellar but limited portfolio was constructed throughout the 80’s and into the mid 90’s and during that time he exhibited regularly at the Art Dialogue Gallery. Considered Da Vinci-esque in both deep-rooted communiqué and quantity, his highly sought after works exemplify the paramount of New York Contemporary painting.
