Artist Biography
Charles Warren Eaton was the great tonalist landscape painter influenced by George Inness. He was born in Albany, NY and is well known for groundbreaking small scale works of intimate and moody countryside paintings. During his career he exhibited at the National Academy of Design, Brooklyn Art Association, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Boston Art Club, and the Royal Academy in London. He received awards from the Salmagundi Club, Philadelphia Art Club, and the 1904 St. Louis Exposition. He was also a founding member of the Lotus and Salmagundi Clubs.
